A visit to Pemberly

October 28, 2009

Pemberly is a tumbled down, overrun decayed rural setting which is lots of fun to explore. The buildings leak, let in the elements, creek or are just standing.

Since fences are down, and the farm is not maintained well, so animals meander all over the place. You have to watch where you are walking.

There are lots of areas to relax, and enjoy the place.

You can picnic or simply amble about.

For all that it is not just a pretty setting, as music events take place here too.

Firefly is situated on Pemberly and it is one of the  venues for the Jazz & Art Festival which is currently running. It finishes on November 14th. If you are interested in any of the events that take place here you can subscribe to the group. It is a subscribomatic group so joining  does not take up one of your group slots.

The area is classified mature

Impressions is directed by Willow Caldera of  Sound ‘r Productions, a machinima company working in Second Life®

Eridu Society Desert Expedition outfit free at Burning Life 09

October 24, 2009

The other evening I wrote about my visit to the Eridu Society Airship outpost at Burning Life 09.

What I did not mention was that this Eridu Society Desert Expedition outfit for Ladies is a gift. Created by Blakopal Galicia head designer and seamstress for BlakOpal Designs means it is a great, well made, freebie with detailing of a high standard.

Detailing on the back of the jacket

I liked the accessories such as goggles, hat, gloves, belt and bag too!

Burning life 09 ends on October 25th so there is only another day or so to pick up this outfit.

There is an outfit there for the guys too!
Eridu Society Desert Expedition outfit for Ladies can be found at the Eridu Society Airship outpost at Burning Life 09
Boots from Decoy
Hair from The Stringer Mausoleum (hunt gift)

Rockerfaerie took a trip through Burning Life and produced a machinima capturing a part of the experience.

Burning Life O9

October 22, 2009

I have some more glimpses of Burning Life 09 all of them refer to narrative by either representing it in an obvious manner or attempting to slide away from it.

Gulliver’s travel scene by Ub Yifu and  Copan Falta was certainly catching peoples eye.
The audio streaming from the first of Gulliver’s Travels is by Reverend Upshaw

Irregularity by Selavy Oh is for me, perhaps one of the most interesting builds at Burning life

‘Irregularity’ consist of 1872 identical poles arranged as a grid which  forms a hollow sphere. A the start of the week the structure is symmetric and regular, but changes as each visitor interacts with the structure. As visitors move around and collide with it poles fall. Although the structure self repairs the poles never take up the same position. This accumulative disarrangement of the structure seemed to be a trace of activity rather than an obvious telling of a story.

Art Evolution Cube is a project by Kicca Igaly and Nessuno Myoo. It caught my curiosity because it aims to represent a process without necessarily turning it into a narrative. Kicca Igaly and Nessuno Myoo are interested in the evolution of a work of art from design on paper to its many possible iterations. Art Evolution Cube attempts to capture this process.
