Free textures

I have recently purchased a copy of Filter Forge and am really enjoying it. Why I did not buy it before now, I just don’t know. It was probably some slight technical hitch like not having a lot of money to throw about.

Anyway I thought I would share a few wallpaper textures I made. I hope you enjoy them and find them useful.

These are freebies. You are free to use them in your builds and sell those builds. Please sell or don’t pass them on as textures. Pass folks the link to this blog instead.

For those that have Filter Forge the filter is called Wall Paper Creator and thanks to the filter designer CFandM. I know it’s not necessary but credit where credit is due, as lets face it I just tweaked.

Photoshop moody scene texture tutorial

Over on InSight Designs blog Amisha March has published a Photoshop Tutorial on using textures and different layers to produce a very moody scene from a standard photograph.
If you are builder or texture designer who is looking to improve their photoshop skills check it out as it is a great resource and there is always something new to learn.

20 Concrete textures

Over on Design Shard there 20 free  hi-resolution (3648px by 2736px) concrete textures which can be used for both commercial and private use.

Worn and distressed yellow paint, cracks and dirt add to the grunge mood that can be created with this type of texture.

Texture archive also has numerous textures but you must be a member and logged in to download textures. When you join  and sign on you get 10000 credits which keeps you busy for quite a while.

Grunge textures releases their material under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 License and images are high resolution JPG’s (2400 pixels x 1800 pixels minimum)

Texture Warehouse offers free high resolution textures for use under a Creative Commons License (Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0)

CTG Textures is a texture site run by a 3D artist. It is one of those sites on which you will spend hours because there is a forum on the site as well as tutorials.

Texture King also has a large collection of high quality textures 

3Dmd.net is also another site that hosts a large collection of textures which can be used in 3D modeling
